In August of 2013 I made the leap across the pond to fulfil my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. I had no idea how drastically different life would be once I arrived.

I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in June of 2013, with a B.A and B.Ed, not completely sure where I’d be in a year’s time. It was a bit worrisome for me, as I’ve always thought of myself as a simplistic person; one vision, a clear and direct path, and an end goal. But in the past 2 years I’ve been able to see the exhilaration and wonderment that’s come from the unknown.

I like to think I’ve navigated my way around without much issue. Of course there have been times when I’ve contemplated flying back home and trying to realise my dream elsewhere in my much larger homeland, but since I’m still here, I like to think that, at least for now, this is where I should be.

I’d like to use this space to write about what goes on in my classroom. I also hope to use this as a tool to communicate my thoughts, ideas, and opinions about issues that surround education, and also give myself a structured space to post things that interest me. I hope you find something interesting or relatable here šŸ™‚
